Penske Human Resources Representative in Shelbyville, Indiana
The Human Resources Representative is responsible for performing professional human resources work in a variety of program areas, including leave administration, talent acquisition, employee engagement, training and associate relations. This position will work closely with the HR Manager taking a proactive approach to all HR initiatives to ensure sustained business success.
The successful candidate will be professional, energetic, reliable, highly organized and eager to learn! Their primary focus will be on ensuring the proper tracking of associate availability and effectively administer all types of absence from work (including Family and Medical Leave and Military Leave) by represented and non-represented associates of Penske Logistics servicing one of Penske's prestigious customers in Shelbyville, IN.
Advise associates and management on interpretation of human resources policies, programs, and procedures involving FMLA and LOA. Recommend practice and process revisions based on best practices.
Ensure compliance and proper documentation in regards to all applicable laws and regulations (including HIPAA, FMLA and USERRA), as well as Company-sponsored plans, programs and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Performs administrative duties to support other functions as needed, i.e. staffing, time and attendance, and discipline.
In conjunction with the HR Manager, develops and supports HR projects and engagement activities.
Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Human Resources Degree or commensurate Human Resources experience (1-3 years).
Desire to learn all aspects of HR.
Working knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures utilized in staffing, associate relations, compensation and training.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret state and federal leave entitlements and HR laws and practices.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
Strong Microsoft outlook and office skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to work occasional second or third shift hours.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
