Penske Systems Analyst in Reading, Pennsylvania
At Penske the Systems Analyst is responsible to lead analytical efforts associated with multiple projects, which are based on requirements given directly by customers or client groups. They lead projects through the full system development life cycle and provide project management. They lead development and help more junior developers out with design, development, and troubleshooting problems.
This position is located at our Corporate offices in a pleasant country and suburban setting 7 miles South of Reading, PA. Our location is a convenient commute with ample free and easy parking.
Gather requirements and lead the development effort throughout the full SDLC including Project management
Responsible for the creation, modification, and testing of code
Involved in the review of code from junior level and offshore programmers
Involved in ongoing systems monitoring and general support of assigned applications
Involved in analyzing system/software performance
Responsible for analyzing and identifying system performance issues, recoding bugs, testing fixes and implementing the solution identified
Analyze software solutions based on customer requirements and suggest the best solution
Other projects or tasks as assigned by supervisor
Bachelor’s Degree required, Computer Science and advanced degrees preferred
7 years of relevant experience required
Project management and excellent written/verbal communication skills required
Required technical skills include:
RPG Free, ILE RPG with Imbedded SQL
Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear/concise manner to end users
Knowledge of project management tools and the ability to plan, execute and report on small to medium size projects are required
Additional skills may be a plus:
JAVA Web Experience
Expertise in Data Access (SQL etc)
Familiarity with quality tools (ie, Six Sigma, LEAN, CAP etc) to include Lean Process Improvement and the ability to coach others in their
