POSITION SUMMARY:

This Senior Manager of Performance and Career Development at Penske will align and engage Penske’s workforce to its most important work through systemic performance management practices and prepare the workforce for that work by providing meaningful professional development.

In this role, you will have responsibilities for strategies, systems, and programs to help move our company and our associates’ careers forward. You will have an opportunity to work with peers in the Talent Development, external thought leaders, and functional leaders across the organization, as well as collaborate frequently with our field HR teams.

Qualified candidates for this role will have meaningful and related experience. A Bachelor’s degree required and successful demonstration of excellent communication skills and the demonstrated capability of leading a project or program from conception through to implementation at function or enterprise scale. Must have proven record of taking initiative, learning and quickly applying new insights along with a genuine desire to learn, grow, and make a difference in the lives of others.

This role will be located at Penske’s corporate offices in Reading, PA, 75 minutes northwest of Philadelphia.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance Management

  • Performance Management Strategy, Design and Implementation

  • Create development resources for goal setting

  • Align year end administration with Compensation to simplify management administration time and increase impact

  • Integrate brand attributes and into performance management processes and practices

  • Simplify complexity of performance management forms and systems

Career Development

  • Design and implement a corporate university

  • Develop and maintain line of business specific functional competency development

  • Develop and keep updated a career development framework and associate resources

  • Ensure alignment of internal career development resources and narratives with external recruiting related messages

  • Curate leading edge professional development content

Leadership

  • Develop professional capability of team members according to business needs and individual aspirations.

  • Consistent management of training resource supply and demand

  • Thought leadership on Career Development and Performance Management

Compliance Training

  • Manage the enterprise portfolio of required training

  • Provide continuous improvement to the user experience and transfer of learning

  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, a degree in Human Resources or related social science degree preferred

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • Prior leadership experience strongly preferred

  • Prior experience with platform training or public speaking, psychological assessments, HRIS interface, interpretation and consultation, and instructional systems design preferred

  • Must be able to effectively manage competing priorities.

  • Prior experience with project management and program design / development / implementation preferred

  • Prior experience with group facilitation preferred

  • Must be collaborative & work in a team environment

  • Must have strong coaching skills

  • Prior experience teaching / instructing in a professional setting preferred

  • Must be able to diagnose organizational effectiveness

  • Must be customer centric

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
