Penske Knowledge Management Specialist in Reading, Pennsylvania


Position Summary:

Ensure all learning and development training resources accurately reflect current maintenance SOP’s throughout all maintenance learning and organizational development lesson plans, programs and initiatives continuing the organizations competitive edge.

In this role you will ensure all levels of maintenance training continues to evolve and keep pace with learning technologies. Our maintenance services are one of the core product lines in the organization and support a 9,000 person decentralized workforce. The changes in the industry are outpacing current training material. You will be a part of this solution to ensure our organizations competitive edge.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or prior work experience keeping information current and up to date. Perhaps prior experiences such as content management, data inventories, company intranet content oversight. Solid project management and communication skills will ensure you will be successful in the role.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Employ the use of traditional and digital learning approaches to develop and implement innovative, creative, and effective ways to strategically capture and share knowledge, leverage good practices, and improve the effectiveness of delivery.

  • Collaborate with SME’s and field associates to ensure Work product align with organizational initiatives and strategy

  • Create and maintain a database linking key functional SOP with specific course. Database will monitor enhancements to the course / module/ page level.

  • Collaborate with necessary department SME and ensure updated content is delivered to training consultants and Manager.

  • Ensure accessibility of training content to field associates

  • Other projects as assgined by the manager


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. If no degree, equivalent work experience is required. Preferred majors in: Project Management, Training, Learning and Development, Database Administration, Business Administration

  • 4 years of proven project management experience is required

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred

  • Project management skills, organization skills, and strong time management skills required

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work well independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision; strong sense of urgency

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
