Web Design Architect in Reading Pennsylvania United States

Position Summary:
The Web Design Architect position is an excellent opportunity to be directly involved in our website design and structure. This is a position for someone who has a strong ability to balance technical needs of code development along with design requirements. This position will regularly interact with both the interactive marketing department and our information technology department.

This role is being described as approximately 50% development and 50% design.

This position is located in our corporate marketing department, based in Reading, PA located just 10 minutes off of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Morgantown exit.

Responsibilities:
-Provide oversight to the companys static web structure from a technical and information design perspective (including internet, mobile, blog etc.)
-Ensure web content and structure meet industry standards for best practices and are architected for growth
-Identify and research emerging web technologies, features, and methodologies to ensure the Penske web properties adapt to changing standards
-Develop guidelines and standards for the structure of Penskes static web properties.
-Verify that all web properties adhere to best practices standards for information design and implementation
-Develop HTML code and static web pages (approx. 50% of time)

-At least 5 years of experience in website development required, experience with Javascript, JAVA, Dojo, jQuery preferred
-At least 5 years of experience with HTML, CSS, XML
-At least 5 years in information design and architecting websites
-Experience using website design and development tools, Dreamweaver preferred
-Experience in website usability and SEO required
-Experience in mobile static website design and architecture required
-Experience training others in the use of web content development tools
-IT background a plus
-Strong ability to work within a team and across multiple functions
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Ability to coordinate and communicate between technical and non-technical associates
-Excellent goal setting, performance management, and follow-up
-Ability to design and document standards procedures
-Strong project management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines
