Penske Tax Coordinator in Reading, Pennsylvania


Position Summary:

The Tax coordinator must have an understanding of personal property tax statutes and to be able to apply the statue to maintain accurate filings, fair and equitable invoice payments, and identify possible appeals and abatements. They represent Penske as the leader in the truck leasing industry and must maintain professional and favorable relationships with all internal and external customers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for interpretation & application of policies & procedures, customer service, guidelines and government regulations and ensure compliance

  • Analyze process, transactions and plans

  • Complete all monthly processes required to manage fixed assets and vehicles, including asset reviews and classifications, testing, and problem resolution.

  • Finalize and process all property tax renditions for assigned states

  • Tax review, Preparation

  • Handle inquiries from internal departments and field managers

  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.


  • 2 -3 years of tax rendition processing preferred

  • Prior experience in customer service and tax research preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks as required

  • Strong written and oral communications required

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint required

AS/400, ACL, Hyperion, CCH and PTMS experience preferred

  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
