Penske Senior Mobile Engineer in Reading, Pennsylvania
A Sr. Mobile Engineer’s main responsibility is to provide day-to-day support of the company’s mobile device community and MDM solution. They support and maintain the security of the devices, connectivity, authentication, report and maintain the MDM solution. The incumbent acts as a consultant to the business in regards to mobility, participates in the Global and leads the IT mobile councils. They work closely with the Penske business units and ensure the business problem is aligned with the correct mobile solution. The Sr. Mobile engineer will work closely with the Desktop Services team, Networking team, Data Communications team, and Telecomm team; communicates regularly with the CIO and CTO of the technology services team. The incumbent monitors MDM stability, performance issues and implement a solution if / when a problem is found. They plan and execute DR testing and maintain detailed documentation of the MDM infrastructure. The incumbent also ensures logs and alerts are reviewed and attended to. They participate in the long term planning of the mobility environment and perform periodic reviews of maintenance contracts to ensure the company is not at risk. They also design; develop and deploy complex solutions. The incumbent will seek and participate in development opportunities outside of the organizations offerings. A Sr. Mobile Engineer will manage or co-manage and coordinate the implementation of multiple projects that have department or division-wide implications and impact. Such efforts will require cross-function involvement with IT groups and business groups. They are responsible for the creation of project plans, timelines, milestones, goals and ownership. The position requires the ability to participate in after hours tasks such as on-call responsibilities and organizational outage windows. The incumbent also ensures proper change management processes are followed at all times.
-Manage, maintain, update, and support of Company’s MDM technologies.
-Identification and correction of mobile device issues.
-Manage mobile devices to corporate standards
-Involved in analyzing system/software performance and adjust server / storage specifications based on any identified problems.
-Analyze MDM hardware to ensure that hardware is utilized at its highest capacity
-Perform disaster recovery planning and testing for the company’s mobile device environment.
-Lead project scope development and options analysis.
-Identify and recommend solution to meet customer needs, and implement chosen solution.
-Manage projects from identification of need to implementation and ongoing monitoring of system/solution performance.
-Communicate with client groups on a regular basis to determine needs
-Work closely with customer’s leadership and project team during scope development and option analysis phase.
-Manage the projects and/or solutions to client group expectations.
-Communication of project status to management and customer on regular basis.
-Other projects as assigned by the supervisor
-Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
-Understanding of integration of mobile devices into MS Exchange platform.
-Understanding of integration of mobile devices into UCaaS.
-3-5 years of functional experience
-2-3 years of project management (including mid-to-large scale projects, and managing multiple projects at one time)
-Supervisor skills are a plus
-Experience and full fluency in the following hardware/software required:
-Apple IOS devices.
-Exchange integration with MDM solution.
-Device setup and configurations
-Remote deployment concepts and tools.
-Microsoft office applications (including Visio)
