Penske IT Asset Analyst in Reading, Pennsylvania


Position Summary:

An IT Asset Analyst primary responsibility is to provide day-to-day support of the Company's software compliance efforts. The incumbent has oversight responsibility for the asset inventory management of all Penske Truck Leasing Enterprise PC and server software assets.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conducts audits ensuring records and databases containing information regarding purchasing, configuration, licenses, warranties and service agreements for the organizations PC

  • Ensures that server hardware / software assets are being maintained.

  • Minimizes organizational costs by ensuring license re-use and license harvesting techniques.

  • Implementation of processes to ensure licenses are being managed in accordance to the vendor's specifications

  • Ensures the organization is not at risk of litigation by ensuring the organization is compliant.

  • Works with suppliers to understand licensing models and communicates to internal SME's the findings.

  • Creates efficient process for the use of software assets.

  • Other projects as assigned the supervisor


  • High School diploma, advanced degrees preferred

  • 1-2 years of functional experience

  • Certified Software Manager or equivalent

  • 1-2 years of project participation (including mid-to-large scale projects with multiple departments)

  • Experience and fluent in the following:

-Microsoft office applications

-Asset management systems.

-PC Desktop and server software knowledge.

-Vendor licensing models.

-Help Desk call tracking system

-Ability to write and present proposals and technical documents

-Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

-Ability to multi-task and prioritize with great initiative and can-do attitude.

  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
