Penske Facility Security Specialist in Reading, Pennsylvania
Manage Physical Security design, standards, and implementation for Penske Truck Leasing locations to ensure appropriate and cost-effective protection of our buildings and sites. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing day-to-day issues with national security service providers (e.g. Stanley, Electric Guard Dog); evaluating new products and systems for improved security; and communicating most current practices and standards to our field facilities personnel and architects.
This exciting new position is created as a result of our growth and is conveniently located at our suburban Corporate Campus, 7 miles South of Reading PA.
Develop plans and initiate actions proactively and as requested by Operations and/or Corporate Security; manage project budgets, schedules, and invoice payments; provide appropriate reports out to executive management as needed
Make recommendations of scope of work, contractor selection, budgets, priority of work as well as those decisions on what is required to keep a project/program on track.
Give expert advice on Security practices to Penske middle management (Branch and District Managers) but occasionally will provide report out to higher management levels. Each individual project/program and the decisions made have potential impact for years to come.
Negotiate project disputes and the dollars relating to those disputes. Judgment on making decisions comes from a well thought out plan and drawing on the authority to employ and terminate contractors as needed. This position has the potential of managing several contracted service providers touching 500 locations each year. This is a highly interactive position with large visibility to Operations.
Opportunities to engage in Financial Analysis to include: value engineering , Project cost analysis , Contract negotiation , Bid Analysis and contractor selection , and Invoice review and processing.

College degree in security or related field or equivalent in experience or training
Minimum of 5 years field experience in installation, configuration and maintenance of security systems and components.
Knowledge of facility construction and maintenance management is a plus.

This position requires a high degree of motivation and ability to work without a high degree of direction and/or supervision.
This position is based in Green Hills and will require minimal travel (5%); however, some travel may be warranted dependent on the project/program of concern.
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
