Penske Clerk (Logistics) in El Paso, Texas

Position Summary:

Gather all shipping documents including Packing Slips, Manifests, ETCRFs, Commercial Invoices, Certificates of Origin, BOLs, Chemical BOLs, trailer numbers, seals and all checklists to validate the integrity of information documented on the Mexican Customs Invoice (Factura – automated, manual, specialized) with the sole purpose of avoiding fines or confiscation of material. Provide reports and charts to the Sr. Ops. Supervisor of findings and offer solutions to the process to eliminate errors.

This is a 1st shift position. Days are Monday - Friday. Hours are 7:30am - 4:30pm.

Major Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities may include:

-Gather respective paperwork (ETCRFs, Commercial Invoices, BOLs, Certificates of Origin, Packing Slips, Facturas, etc) from shipping areas (Factura Clerks, Import / Export Clerks, Shipping Clerks)

-Review information on all documents and certify that the information (make, model, serial number, part number, UOM, country of origin, weights, quantities, ECCN, descriptions, clases, value) matches the physical productive and indirect material and machinery

-Conduct extensive assessment of all automated, manual and specialized factura/customs invoices for Direct and In Direct departments for all Delphi divisions, hazmat material and machinery.

-Communicate all findings to the Sr. Ops Supervisor in order to have them corrected before shipping material.

Ensure that proper HT wooden skids are used to ship material / machinery

-Identify hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals, in accordance to MSDS information provided.

-Document findings in order to create Pareto Charts for review with management

-Participate in the determination of the root causes and corrective actions.

-Assist in identify and reporting material in Quarantine area.

-Provide ISO procedure inputs to reduce the gaps in the process and prevent future errors

-Prepare appropriate documentation and related reports as needed.

-Conform to Internal Control, ISO-9001, ISO 14001, SOX, C-TPAT programs etc .

-Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly activity/summary reports as required.

-Comply with company, client, and governmental policies and regulations.

-Continue to enhance knowledge of job related operations.

-Assist with other clerical duties as required to meet departmental objectives.

-Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or equivalent required.

-Community college coursework, training or degree in import/export preferred.

-One - two years related experience required

-One – two years related experience in DOT (hazmat) shipments required

-Bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written required.

-Good interpersonal communication skills as coordination with other functions as well as contact with individuals external to the department and/or company such as vendors, customers, etc.

-Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

-Able to operate standard office equipment (i.e. computer, copy machine, fax, calculator, etc.)

-Must possess excellent computer skills and knowledge with Microsoft Office, and all related applications such as Pareto Charts.

-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.
