Penske Automotive Technician/Mechanic in Cincinnati, Ohio
Position Summary :
A Penske Automotive Technician will generally assist in the repair and diagnosis of major components or remove/replace major components at the direction of Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor. Expectations include the ability to diagnose and repair the following with little or no supervision: , Electric Systems, Heating/Air Conditioning Systems, Instruments and Gauges, and Preventive Maintenance Service.
The flexibility to work any shift is preferred.
Accurately diagnose and repair a variety of automotive makes and models
Identify mechanical problems, often using computerized diagnostic equipment.
Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly.
Follow checklist to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
Perform basic care and preventive maintenance, including changing oil, giving tuneups, checking fluid levels and rotating tires.
Repair or replace worn parts, such as brakes and wheel bearings.
Disassemble and reassemble parts.
Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective.
1-4 years practical experience with Automotive maintenance required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Vocational/Technical or certification preferred
Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred
Proficiency in the use of shop tools required
A valid drivers license is required
Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred, willingness to acquire CDL if you do not have one.
Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required
Willingness to travel as necessary within the district (customers yards, close geographical area and training sites), work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a
background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
