Penske PC Support Technician in Chesterfield, Michigan
The responsibilities of the PC Support Technician will be to be the primary on site contact for all computer and telephone network equipment in the facility to include trouble shooting, new requests and terminating user access.
Backing up data on a regular and as needed basis
Troubleshooting various network equipment/issues (Industrial Ethernet Switches, Access Points, Servers, LAN, WAN etc)
Troubleshooting Telephone equipment including cell phones
Monitoring toner quantities and ordering/installing toner for printers.
Imaging PC’s and setting up new equipment
Submitting User Access requests and training new users on using the local applications (Email, Employee User ID’s, Workflows )
Maintaining and ordering some perishable IT assets (Keyfobs, Monitors, keyboards, mice, zebra printer heads)
Perform Routine Maintenance on IT assets
Assist with all PC upgrades
Reallocating IT assets from terminated employees and terminating access in some systems.
Run Cat5 cable as needed.
Moving and setting up computers, phones , printers etc...
Setting up printers on computers.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Other duties as assigned by management
Must have advanced A related skills including ability to build, setup, maintain PC’s.
Must have advanced skills in troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining Windows 7, 8 and 10 in a Windows Server 2012, networked environment.
Ability to setup and troubleshoot wireless networks.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Basic networking knowledge & support including switches, wiring, TCPIP, DHCP & DNS knowledge.
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communications skills, ability to handle multiple tasks required.
Associates (or higher) degree in networking technology preferred.
3-5 years experience working in a help desk and/or PC support in a networked environment preferred.
Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours.
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 40 hours per week. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required as job needs demand.
