You will be actively engaged in full maintenance service department with expose to our lead technicians and maintenance supervisors as mentors throughout the program. In this 12 week internship program, you will receive personalized training. Regardless of experience, this position will give you aptitude and knowledge base to kick start your career within the transportation industry. We offer a structured training program, which will enable you to apply your education, training, and skills to real world situations. Throughout the 12 week internship, you will troubleshoot and perform repairs clutches, brakes, hydraulics, minor engine repair and more.
At Penske we pride ourselves for having one of the top Preventative Maintenance structures in the transportation industry and you will have the chance to learn our entire process from start to finish. This is a great opportunity as you develop skills while earning additional income throughout the summer. Upon graduation and based on performance, you will have the opportunity to come on board as an entry level technician to the Penske family.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
A valid driver’s license is required.
Tech or Vocational certification preferred
Must be able to work in a fast past, high energy environment
Effective communication both written and verbal is key to success, bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
Willingness to travel within district (close geographical area), work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a reference verification (to include past employment and education) are required.
