Position Summary:
A Penske Senior Programmer Analyst develops and maintains computer applications for end user groups. Analyze performance of applications, and troubleshoot problems. Involved in the coding, testing and documentation of the proposed solution.
Major Responsibilities:
Design/Develop a feature area or an application adhering to Design Standards of Penske including security, privacy and performance characteristics
Proactively identifies opportunities for Reuse within the application and across the project group
Involved in ongoing systems monitoring and general support of assigned applications
Involved in analyzing system/software performance
Involved in the review of code from junior level and offshore programmers
Responsible for analyzing and identifying system performance issues, recoding bugs, testing fixes and implementing the solution identified
Analyze software solutions based on customer requirements and suggest the best solution
Ensures owned feature area / application is delivered to business on time with the expected quality
Understands the dependencies between features across applications
Providing time and resource estimates for assigned tasks or own features
Delivers code for features as scheduled and adheres to the design
Finds and resolves defects in owned feature area / application
Ensures designs and feature implementations conform to design standards
Ensures that the Design completely addresses the expected business functionality and appropriately lends (flexible) itself for future requirements
Efficient in conducting Design Reviews to address functional as well as non-functional requirements
Ensures that code developed meets specifications and is easily maintainable.
Efficient in implementing code review processes to address requirements as well as best practices in coding
Ensures that the applications are maintained with awareness of optimal performance on the network
Communicates and defends design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of subsystem to team members and Development Manager.
Participates in Functional Design sessions with other functional groups and effectively understands functional design
Perform necessary R&D to evaluate tools / technologies / solutions for technical requirements
Participates in bug triage – interacts with dev team members, PM, Test, Support for resolving issues.
Participates in design reviews and added insight into feature area designs
Writes unit test cases for each function of own features that effectively exercises the code
Monitors progress of assigned feature area / application and communicates status to all stakeholders (if applicable, based on the responsibility within project)
Identifies and resolves defects for own features
Collaborates effectively with other groups to resolve technical issues, if any.
Other projects or tasks as assigned by supervisor/Manager
-5-7 years of functional experience including development and implementation of functional and technical specifications for applications are required
-1-2 years of project management (including mid-to-large scale projects) required
-At least 3-5 years of experience and full fluency in the following (depending on role) preferred:
Programming languages/Frameworks (.NET)
C#, VB, VB.NET, .NET (1.1, 2.0 and 3.5), ASP.NET Web development, Silverlight , JQuery, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, XML, XSL, Web Services, WCF Services.

Visual Studio 2010, Expression Blend Sketchflow for prototyping, Team Foundation Server,
Databases
Oracle, PL/SQL , SQL server

-Bachelors degree required
-Masters degree preferred
-Specific language certifications preferred
-Working knowledge of systems development standards and procedures required
